beneath Gotham

For 300 years an archaeological enigma lay buried beneath the streets of Manhattan Island. Its presence was completely unknown until a 20th Century subway construction crew accidentally discovered it. What they had found were the charred remains of a possible 17th Century Dutch ship - one that had played a little-known but hugely influential role in creating New York City.

This film will, for the first time, properly recognise the achievements of this Dutch ship and her adventurous captain: of the intriguing story surrounding her destruction and excavation; of her voyages of discovery that helped to map out modern America; and of the events she implemented which would change the shape of the modern world irrevocably.

This is the story of a shipwreck that was found beneath Gotham.
